Cleanfilms Online DVD Rental

CleanFilms is a totally unique concept in online dvd rental. What they do is take movies and edit them. They go through and basically turn R and PG-13 movies into PG movies. It isn't unlike watching a movie that has been edited for TV. This is a great service for families with children that are concerned with what their children are watching.

For profanity and coarse language they basically mute it out. Sex, nudity and violence are just cut out of the movie. Because of this editing there are some movies that they don't offer. These movies are ones that would have too much content removed if they were edited. Generally these are very graphic movies with lots of sex, violence, or profanity. A couple examples of movies they don't offer are movies like "American History X", "Pulp Fiction", and "Eyes Wide Shut".

A downside to the editing process is the special features and menus are removed as well. These portions of the DVD can't be burned onto the new DVD so they are just removed. Also some older DVD players aren't able to play the edited DVDs. Luckily they offer a 15 day free trial so you can try out the service and see what the edited movies are like and if they will work with your DVD player before you spend anything.
